Incredible is the only word to describe the 2 day beauty spectacular, Sephoria.
Sephoria was a beauty lover’s dream - booths upon booths of exciting exclusive product reveals, masterclasses with top industry experts, samples galore, swag bags, Instagram moments and much more. The 2nd annual beauty event held in the historic Shrine in Downtown LA was like no other event where glitter & glamor were all the rage.
I attended the VIP opening night with the Sephora Squad on Friday night and also attended on Sunday. Thankfully I had two days at the event as there were 60 plus brands spread over 2 floors with each brand booth as exciting as the next. Many brands had exclusive previews of new upcoming product releases which could be purchased exclusively at the event. Beauty brand experts were on hand at each booth to capture moments and reveal all about featured products. Each brand had a gift or sample for attendees which always delights.
This was my second year at Sephoria and the second year of the event. While the event was amazing last year, Sephora really upped their game this year by significantly increasing the size of the venue which resulted in an airy venue with comfortable space to explore the brands and services. Lines at booths were no longer than a few minutes which made the experience so enjoyable. Not only were there booth of magic to visit, there was a jam packed schedule of masterclasses from top industry experts. I was lucky enough to attend Patrick Ta’s masterclass and have a prime front row seat to watch the genius create magic in minutes. Patrick had flown in that morning from NY, fresh from NYFW. Throughout his demonstration, he gave tips and tricks and also revealed that his beauty line is only in the early stages with more products to be released soon including makeup brushes and blush.
There were meet and greets throughout the weekend including mega Youtube beauty bloggers, industry experts & brand founders. Sephoria attendees could sign up on the Sephoria app prior to the event or there were also sign ups and walk ups at the event. Services were also a winner at Sephoria with many brands offering beauty make overs. Drybar, Living Proof, Amika and Dyson were all transforming locks using the best haircare products and tools. Sephora Collection were making sure everyone had lashes to envy. Foundation matches were in full swing with beauty blender, Charlotte Tilbury, Sephora Collection, Fenty & Nars all shade matching and providing samples for beauty lovers. If that wasn’t enough Dr. Dennis Gross was providing facials, the ultimate relaxation, in comfy chairs. Brows could be transformed at Hourglass and Charlotte Tilbury. Other brands were offering lots of touch ups and glam services so everyone was pampered throughout.
Customization was dotted throughout the event with YSL offering customization of their lipsticks. Beauty lovers could get their name, Sephoria, Sephora, 2019 or a whole host of customized patterns on their lipstick as a keepsake. Sephora Collection were offering customizations on lipsticks where personal photos could be wrapped around Sephora Collection Stories Lipsticks. Pat McGrath had customizable lip sets on sale which make the perfect gift.
Holiday mode was setting in with some brands showcasing some of their new holiday products. Too Faced had a fabulous new palette on sale with a sleigh photobooth. Scents of gingerbread & spice wafted through the booth. Christmas Carols played and sleigh photo ops could be printed then & there.
I left the venue smiling with an amazing bag of swag worth over $900 filled with full sized products including Tom Ford & Gucci fragrances, Hourglass primer, Living Proof haircare, Urban Decay eye primer, Sunday Riley Serum and much much more! My samples and deluxe minis from brands were in another Sephora goodie bag meaning my suitcase was full of amazing new products to try out. An incredible day hosted by an incredible company. Feeling so lucky that I got the opportunity to attend the event as part of the Sephora Squad. Cannot wait for round three of Sephoria next year already.
