Set upon 11 beautiful acres, this 4 star hotel is a luxurious urban retreat overlooking Rock Creek Park in Washington D.C. Footsteps away from the National Zoo & surrounded by beautiful gardens & trails, this resort is a true gem in Washington D.C. The Omni Shoreham boasts 834 guest rooms & suites & is an oasis of relaxation & luxury.
One of my favorite things about the hotel is that there is lots to do within the hotel so you can really relax and retreat for your stay. I loved lounging by the pool soaking up the sunshine. There is a beautiful restaurant which serves the most delicious breakfast, lunch & dinner. There is also a poolside restaurant & bar serving a seasonal menu as well as cocktails & pool side treats.
I was lucky enough to stay in the spectacular bridal suite. The suite was absolutely STUNNING. Upon entering, the suite opened up to a sitting room with plush furnishings, a massive TV & the most fabulous views of nature. The sitting room led to a dining room & also a balcony which had beautiful lush green views of Rock Creek Park. The amazing bridal suite at Omni Shoreham, Washington D.C. also has the most luxurious bedroom complete with a walk in wardrobe, vanity table & seating area. The bathroom in hotels is always one of my favorite parts (naturally, as this is the place that holds all my beauty products!) The bathroom, finished in marble, had Nest beauty products, his & hers sinks & a JACUZZI! A plush bathrobe & slippers were laid out for my comfort. The staff made my stay absolutely incredible with touches such as fruit platters, local sweet treats, fresh drinks & a nightly turndown service.
Omni Shoreham, Washington D.C. is a rare find. It is an urban resort where you can get everything on site from massages, gym workouts, poolside drinks, brunch, reading time & much more. The hotel itself has so much old school charm & history having hosted many presidents, balls & historic moments. The restaurant has an outdoor seating area overlooking Rock Creek Park. Behind the restaurant area, are lots of areas to sit and relax including an area with a firepit & a separate area with 2 hammocks where you can relax in the shade. There are bike rentals available, horseback riding nearby & the Zoo is a quick walk away.
For a different hotel experience in Washington D.C., I highly recommend the Omni Shoreham for either a relaxing girls getaway, family trip or a pamper trip.
