Deciding on Olaplex 6 or 7

Now that you know the difference between Olaplex 6 and 7, it is hopefully easier for you to decide on Olaplex 6 or 7. The most important question to ask when deciding between Olaplex no 6 vs no 7 is to check if you want a cream or an oil.

Olaplex no 6 is a good starting point. I find this controls my hair better when used alone versus just using the Olaplex 7 oil. Both Olaplex 6 and 7 will work to repair the hair. Our hair gets damaged from color, too much sun, brushing too roughly, pool water, cold weather and much more.

If you have to choose between Olaplex 6 or 7, I would choose Olaplex 6. If you don’t have to decide between Olaplex 6 vs 7 and can afford both, then I would invest in both Olaplex 6 and Olaplex 7. A little goes a long way and Olaplex 6 and 7 work amazingly together to repair and strengthen your hair.

One of the most popular questions on Olaplex no 6 and no 7 is, “Can I use Olaplex 6 and 7 together?”.

Yes, you can use Olaplex 6 and 7 together.

As I mentioned above, I recommend that you use Olaplex 6 and 7 together. The two Olaplex products work very well together as Olaplex 6 smooths, conditions and strengthens without adding hold or excess weight. Olaplex 7 adds to this by increasing shine, softness, and color vibrancy. Olaplex 7 will also minimizing flyaways and frizz.

If you have the luxury of not choosing between Olaplex 7 vs 6, I highly recommend choosing both. You will still see amazing results from using Olaplex 6 alone. The results from adding Olaplex 7 is shiny and soft hair.

How to use Olaplex 6 and 7 together?

I have a full Olaplex review here where I go through in detail how to use Olaplex 6 and how to use Olaplex 7.

It is easy to use Olaplex 6 and 7 together.

To use Olaplex 6: Apply Olaplex 6 to mid-length to ends, comb through and style as desired. Start with 1/2 pump of Olaplex for shoulder-length hair. Use more for longer, thicker hair and less for fine or short hair.

To use Olaplex 7: Apply a small amount to damp or dry hair, style as desired.

I often add a pump of Olaplex 6 into my hand. Then add a few drops of Olaplex 7 and mixx them together. This makes sure that the oil is distributed throughout your hair easily.
