I have always dreamt of attending NYFW for as long as I can remember. I wanted to experience the madness, see the new collections first hand, witness the paparazzi, feel the buzz & excitement and also channel my inner Carrie Bradshaw in the city that never sleeps. I lived my dream of attending shows and after parties last week but I also got to do something absolutely incredible… model in a NYFW show! Here is my experience of modeling in NYFW.

I modeled in NYFW for the amazing couture designer, Sheri Autry, during NYFW for her SS19 collection captioned “A Midsummer Night’s Dream”. As the photos show, Sheri’s SS19 collection is enchanting, whimsical and majestic. 12 beautiful floor length gowns swayed down the runway at NYFW on September 8th, 2018 which was Sheri’s second year displaying her collections at NYFW.

I was honored to wear the “Shooting Star dress” which depicts a limitless future. Could not be more mirrored with my beliefs! This royal blue, velvet A-line gown was a dream to wear. The dress had a satin trim dotted with blue crystals along the bust and sequined stars cascading to the hemline.

Another amazing gown worn by the model in the center of the group photo, “midnight in bloom dress” is a semi-sheer, tulle ball gown style dress and is the ultimate show stopper. The open back bodice, 3 dimensional flowers, metallic blue appliqued drop waist all make this the enchanting fairytale gown it is. Another masterpiece is a sweetheart, mermaid style dress which was hand painted by a local artist. I loved every single dress that graced the NYFW runway and only wished I could take them all home!

Blue and gold features predominantly throughout the collection shown at NYFW along with stars, embellishments, mesh and sequins. The 12 magnificent dresses depict beautifully the theme of Sheri’s SS19 collection that through the love and hope that lives in today’s modern woman, anything is possible.

Not only is Sheri an amazingly talented designer, but she is one of the sweetest people. Sheri is based in Maryland and works full time designing couture dresses for brides and occasion wear. I have had the pleasure of knowing Sheri since 2016 and also modeling a beautiful bridal dress in 2016 for one of her past collections. Grateful for this amazing opportunity of modeling in NYFW and awaiting more stunning gowns from Sheri’s upcoming collections.
