August beauty finds

August 2, 2018 Lorna Ryan
Lorna Ryan Model Blogger San Francisco Irish Galway

I took a little holiday from writing and updating my blog as I went on a 6 week tour between Dallas, Ireland and Madrid (blog posts to come on these wonderful places soon!). Since I returned to San Francisco a few weeks ago, I have been trying out some new products that brands have sent me and here are 5 of my favorites:

Real Techniques sculpting brush set

This sculpting set comes with three brushes and a bonus cup hold for your brushes. There is a sculpting brush, a fan brush and a setting brush. The sculpting brush has a wide, angled head designed to help create defined contours using either cream or liquid bronzer or contour makeup. The fan brush sweeps on powders and whisks away any loose makeup for an even finish. The brush tip can be used to contour the nose also. The setting brush is essential and can be used to set your look using translucent powder (I love Laura Mercier or Bare Minerals)! My favorite brush from this set is the fan brush. Included on the box is details on the free YouTube tutorials on each of the brushes.

Real Techniques enhanced eye set

There are 5 brushes in this eye set and again the set comes with a handy brush cup. There are the perfect brushes to create a strong eye look. The medium shadow brush is wide and flat with tapered bristles to sweep and blend powder or cream shadows. The crease brush is soft and tapered which is easy to use for shaping. The fine liner brush is perfect for applying liquid or cream eyeliner. The shading brush is short and dense for max color pickup. There is also a lash separator and a cap for protecting on the go. There are great tutorials on YouTube on how to best use the brushes. My favorite brush is the essential crease brush.

Clarisonic – Mia 1

I always wanted to try a Clarisonic so was so happy when Clarisonic sent one my way to try out. I have been using Mia 1 the last two weeks and love it. It’s like a mini at home facial but very fast. My Mia 1 came with a pore and blemish cleanser. You can use the Clarisonic twice a day but I am working up to that so am using every other day at the moment. My skin feels so cleansed and fresh after using the cleanser. The cleanser is PH balanced and fragrance, paraben and soap free so it is gentle on your skin. The bristles of the brush head are very soft and gentle.

The Clarisonic works by flexing the skin and flushing water and cleanser into your pores. Dirt, oil and debris are removed leaving your skin soft and glowing. Win win! Going to take this on my next round of travels which I am so excited about!

Wisteria Blue Eau Du Parfum by Nest

Nest Fragrances Sephora Perfume Review Beauty Blogger Lorna Ryan Model San Francisco

Nest have launched some new fabulous perfumes. My favorite is Wisteria blue as it is light, sweet and lasting. I generally like sweet, light fragrances for the day, especially in summer time and darker fragrances for night. This is the perfect scent for a summer holiday! On a side note, Nest also have the most beautiful candles and diffusers with fabulous scents.

Dior Airflash Spray Foundation

I first found this foundation on a recent photoshoot when the makeup artist whipped it out. I fell in love! It is really like an airbrush. It glides on to your skin and is long lasting. The finish is a natural finish with medium coverage. My skin was radiant with the coverage and it lasted long after the photoshoot. I found that the bottle goes quiet quickly compared to other foundations that I have used at this price so I would use on special occasions or nights out. I’m wearing Dior Airflash in the very top picture but the image has been edited by the photographer (hair and makeup by Melissa at Secret Agent Salon and Photography by Jeramie Campbell).

I am trying out lots of new beauty products at the moment so lots more to come shortly!

Thank you to the brands above who gifted me. Although these products were gifted and I work at the Sephora HQ in San Francisco, all opinions are my own.
